Cleaning and Storing the Mealtime Partner

Regular Cleaning.

At the end of each meal the bowl, the bowl covers, and the spoon should be cleaned.  The spoon, bowls, and bowl covers should be removed from the Partner, the bowl covers removed from the bowls, rinsed and then washed in a dishwasher. If a dishwasher is not available then they should be thoroughly washed with hot water and dishwashing detergent, they should then be rinsed with hot water and dried using a clean cloth. Alternately, they can be allowed to air dry.

The Mealtime Partner should be kept clean and free of food and other contaminants. If food gets on the Partner during the meal, the outer case should be wiped using a clean damp cloth. Once a week the Partner should be wiped with a sterilizing solution such as 409 or another Kitchen cleaner. Do not spray cleaners directly on the Partner. Spray them onto the cloth that is to be used to wipe the Partner. Do not use caustic or abrasive cleansers on the device as they will damage the surface and make future cleanings more difficult.

Long Term Storage.  If the Partner is going to be stored and not used for more than a period of three months the battery should be removed. To remove the battery, follow the instructions for installing or replacing the battery in Section 7. Do not store the battery in a location that is very hot or has extremely high humidity. It is best to store the battery where the temperature is between –20 and 30 oC (-4 and 86 oF) and the humidity is around 65. Do not store where corrosive gases are present.
