The Cup Holder

An essential component of both of the Mealtime Partners Front Mounted Drinking Systems and the Drink-Partner Drinking Systems is the Cup Holder. In the Front Mounted Drinking System, the Cup Holder attaches to the end of the Flex Arm.

The Drink-Partner Drinking System comes with a bottle (with a drink tube) and a Cup Holder. There are two different Cup Holder mounting systems from which to select: 1) for manual wheelchairs and/or hospital beds with round metal tubes or rods to which to attach; and 2) a mounting system for powered wheelchairs with a slide-track mounting systems.

The Cup Holder can accommodate a wide variety of drink containers ranging from standard 12 oz. cans and coffee cups to large plastic cups which can be placed directly in the cup holder, and small cups like "Sippy Cups" that can be put in a Koozie before being put in the cup holder. Additionally, it should be noted that the Cup Holder has a cutout to accommodate the handle of a mug. Dimensions are shown below in Figure 2, so you can determine whether your favorite container will fit.

A Koozie (which is provided with the Front Mounted Drinking System) can be inserted into the Cup Holder to position smaller cups snuggly (and to keep items hot or cold). Simply add a straw to the container and the drink is available.
